Marian Wrenn Smith, age 96, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017. Marian was a resident of Park Springs Retirement Community.

She was born in Greenwood, SC the daughter of the late George Caldwell Wrenn and Bessie Louise LeRoy Wrenn. Marian moved to Charlotte, NC at an early age where she resided until her marriage to Robert Lee Smith Sr. on March 30, 1946.

Marian Wrenn Smith, age 96, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017. Marian was a resident of Park Springs Retirement Community.

She was born in Greenwood, SC the daughter of the late George Caldwell Wrenn and Bessie Louise LeRoy Wrenn. Marian moved to Charlotte, NC at an early age where she resided until her marriage to Robert Lee Smith Sr. on March 30, 1946.

Mrs. Smith served in the Navy WAVES during WWII as a Seaman Second Class and Stenographer. She was honorably discharged from the Navy in December 1945. The family moved to Atlanta in 1960 and she was employed by DCASR, (Defense Contract Administration Services Region), in Atlanta until her retirement in 1976. She later served as Secretary Treasurer of Atlanta Forklifts.

She was a faithful member of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, the Azalea Hills Garden Club, The Huguenot Society of South Carolina, The Huguenot Society of Georgia and the advisory board of Willington on the Way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Robert Lee Smith, Jr and her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Smith of Monroe, GA; her brother, Ralph Wrenn of Salinas, CA; her five grandchildren, Zachary Smith and his wife Hannah , Renee Morgan and her husband Christopher, Joshua Smith and his wife Sarah, Adam Smith and Elizabeth Smith. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Harper Smith and Hunter Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home, with Dr. Jim Higgins officiating. Inurnment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
